Salvador Sobral won the 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev for Portugal thus making the first ever win for Portugal in the Eurovision history.
Salvador Sobral wrote history for Portugal at Eurovision being the first ever Portuguese entry who finished both 1st in the televote and with the juries gaining a total of 758 points.

Therfore Portugal, Bulgaria and Moldova brought their best result for their respective country in the Eurovision history.

What happened during the show?
Starting with the traditional intro of the Eurovision Song Contest we were brought to the streets of Kiev to Celebrate Diversity with the traditional necklace making the logo of this years Eurovision Song Contest in common. The opening show introduced all the 26 competing artists coming to the stage with a flag parade. In the interval acts there were spectacular familiar Eurovision faces: Ruslana, Jamala and Verka Serduchka. Onuka attempted as a special guest to the show.
